With a view to monitor e-transactions within state, the department has developed electronic transaction aggregation and analysis layer (ETAAL). When contacted, a senior official of state's IT department said on condition of anonymity that state was earlier ranked at third position thanks to various citizen services schemes being run by it, including direct benefit transfer (DBT) and MP online services. However, Uttar Pradesh beat MP by securing third position this time.
When contacted, state's treasury commissioner Manish Rastogi said, "Though we have already achieved success in bringing more than 95% of payment related transactions on e-platform, we are yet to bring payments like wages and petty payments- value of which is less than Rs 1,000- under online model."
How they fared:
State-----------No of e-transactions (in crore)
Gujarat--------13.84
AP-------------06.27
UP-------------04.55
MP-------------02.58
